Soveja water and sewer works: 8,034 m of sewer, 11 pumping stations

Comuna Soveja in Vrancea county signed a contract on 16 September 2026 to extend its water supply and build a sewer system in the tourist development zone of the commune. The notice appeared on 18 September 2026, two days after signature. The contractor is PROCONSTRIND. The value is 18,663,351.76 RON, about 3,489,260 EUR, and the works period is 30 months.

The notice is unusually specific. It lists pipe lengths by diameter and material, counts manholes, valve chambers, hydrants and pumping stations, and names the water works. This article sets out what the award notice states and nothing beyond it. The works fall in the classes of our pipes and pumps and drainage and precast concrete pages.

The sewer side states 8,034 m of pipe, 191 manholes and 11 pumping stations

The notice describes the gravity sewer in one line:

Extindere retea de canalizare menajera gravitationala in lungime totala de 8034 m din PVC SN 8, cu Dn 250 mm;

That is 8,034 m of domestic sewer in PVC, stiffness class SN 8, nominal diameter 250 mm. The next lines are about manholes. The notice states 191 precast concrete manholes and says where they go:

191 camine de vizitare, prefabricate din beton. Acestea fiind prevazute la fiecare schimbare de panta, directie, intersectie si in aliniament si nu la mai mult de 80m distanta intre camine;

So the manholes are placed at every change of slope, direction and junction, and in straight runs at no more than 80 m apart. Separately, the notice lists 583 connection manholes, with PVC SN 8 connection pipes of DN 160 mm running from the manhole at each subscriber's property line to the connection manhole at the collector. It gives their total length as 4,081 m.

On pumping the notice reads:

Statii de pompare ape uzate, 11 bucati, din camine prefabricate din beton armat, dotate cu 2 pompe (1A+1R) ;

It states 11 wastewater pumping stations built from precast reinforced concrete chambers, each fitted with two pumps. The notation 1A+1R is usually read as one duty pump and one standby pump. The notice also states force mains from the pumping stations with a total length of 1,581 m in PEID, pressure class PN 10, with a diameter it gives as 90 mm.

The water side states a 3,611 m supply main, 7,880 m of distribution and 21 hydrants

The water scheme starts at a surface intake from the Chiua spring. The supply main is described like this:

Conducta de aductiune in lungime de 3611m PEID PE 100 PN10, SDR17, De 125 mm;

That is 3,611 m of PE 100 pipe, PN 10, SDR 17, outside diameter 125 mm, with 12 valve chambers on the main. The notice also lists a water works with two storage tanks of 300 m³ each and treatment by filtration and chlorination with gaseous chlorine.

The distribution network totals 7,880 m of PE 100 pipe, PN 10, SDR 17, with outside diameters between 110 and 160 mm. The notice adds:

• 583 house connections in PEHD PE 100, SDR 17, PN 10, DN 25 mm, with a total length it gives as "aproximativ" 4,081 m, which means approximately.
• 32 valve chambers on the distribution network and 4 pressure-reducing chambers.
• 21 above-ground fire hydrants, minimum DN 80 mm.

The quantities, in one table

The water and sewer house connections carry the same count and the same length. They are two lists in the notice, one per network. Read them as two items and do not add them to the pipe totals above.

What the notice does not state

The passages above name no pipe manufacturer, no pump make and no manhole supplier. They state quantities of works and technical classes. They say nothing about who will supply any item, and we do not guess. The text we read also ends inside the list of sewer works, so the notice may state more than is set out here.

The notice gives a works period of 30 months and no schedule of when any item is installed.

How this contract relates to earlier ones
