62 public-works contracts signed in 30 days to 12 October 2026
In short

Our pool holds 62 public-works contracts signed since 12 September 2026, worth 503,546,365 RON, about 94,286,478 EUR. Iași leads the county count with 5 contracts and the national road company leads the authorities. The median time from signature to publication is 3 days, and 7 days over 90 days.

Our pool holds 62 public-works contracts signed since 12 September 2026. Together they are worth 503,546,365 RON, about 94,286,478 EUR. The pool reads award notices from Romania's SICAP, Moldova's MTender and TED, and a contract enters it when its notice is published.

This article reads those 62 as a market: where they were signed, which authorities signed them, what a value total leaves out, and how soon the notices appeared. It counts notices. It is not a forecast.

62 contracts in 30 days, 183 in 90

The 90-day window includes the 30-day one. Values are the contract values recorded in the notices; euro values are converted at the rate of 9 October 2026.

The evidence page shows how a notice becomes a line in the pool, with its dates of signature and publication.

Iași leads the 30-day county count, Timiș the 90-day count

In the 30 days, the counties with the most contracts are Iași with 5, then Argeș, Cluj and Olt with 4 each, then Bihor, Mureș, Suceava and Teleorman with 3 each. One of the Iași contracts is Miroslava, covered in an earlier article on parapets. One of the Suceava contracts is the DJ 178G road, covered in another.

Over 90 days the order changes. Timiș has 13 contracts, then Brașov, Cluj, Constanța and Mureș with 9 each, Bihor and București with 8 each, and Argeș with 7.

Two cautions. The county is the one recorded for the contract in our pool, and a road directorate's contract can cover roads in several counties, so a county count shows where authorities signed, not where every metre of road lies. And the Moldovan and German contracts in the pool carry no county, so they are absent from these lists.

The national road company leads the authority lists under several names

Authorities are counted as the notice spells their name. In the 30 days, five authorities appear more than once:

  • Compania Națională de Administrare a Infrastructurii Rutiere S.A.: 4
  • the same company acting through its DRDP Brașov directorate: 3
  • Direcția Județeană de Administrare a Drumurilor și Podurilor Iași: 2
  • Județul Tulcea: 2
  • Municipiul Pitești: 2

Over 90 days the company itself has 16 contracts, its DRDP Craiova directorate 9 and 7 under two spellings that differ in capitals, its DRDP Brașov directorate 7, and Județul Timiș 7. Then come Administrația Domeniului Public și Dezvoltare Urbană Sector 6 and Județul Mureș with 5 each, and Municipiul Brașov with 3. We do not merge name variants here.

For a supplier of guardrails or road marking and signs, the lists say which public bodies sign road contracts repeatedly. They do not say what each contract contains.

A value total says little about what is delivered

Take one contract from the 30 days. Municipiul Satu Mare signed on 30 September 2026 with ANTREPRIZA DE REPARATII SI LUCRARI A R L CLUJ for repair and maintenance of the city's streets. The value is 176,996,226 RON, about 33,141,637 EUR, and the works period is 48 months. That one value is part of the 503,546,365 RON total above. The notice appeared on 2 October 2026. It is notice CAN1175352.

The description lists kinds of work and gives no quantity:

Realizarea acestora presupune lucrări de: reparare a drumurilor, a trotuarelor inclusiv a trotuarelor cu pavaje, încadrarea cu borduri a carosabilului și trotuarelor, reparații dale de beton degradate …

In English: the works include repairing roads and footways, including paved footways, edging carriageways and footways with kerbs, and repairing damaged concrete slabs. The list goes on to patching, thin asphalt layers, levelling earth streets and raising manhole and gully covers to level. Kerbs, slabs and covers are items a supplier of drainage and precast products will recognise. The notice states no length, no number and no area for any of them.

Two other contracts of the same window show the pattern from the other side. The national road company's DRDP Cluj directorate signed on 6 October 2026 with DRUM CONSTRUCT for summer maintenance of carriageways and shoulders under a four-year framework agreement (acord-cadru 4 ani). The contract recorded is 788,600 RON, about 147,661 EUR, over 48 months; the notice states the framework's maximum value as 99,161,690.00 lei excluding VAT and its minimum as 9,916,169.00. Consiliul Județean Arad signed on 6 October 2026 with PIATRA BALAST IMPEX for maintenance of asphalt roads in its Lipova sector, also under a four-year framework: 1,528,048.64 RON, about 286,119 EUR, 48 months, per notice CAN1137992.

A call-off under a framework and a works contract for a defined site sit side by side in the same value total. A value is not a quantity. Of the 551 contracts in the whole pool, the notice text states a quantity for 90.

Notices appeared a median of 3 days after signature

For contracts signed in the last 30 days the median time from signature to publication is 3 days. For the last 90 days it is 7. The two are not the same measure. A contract signed last week whose notice is not yet published is not in the pool, so the 30-day figure counts only contracts whose notices have already appeared. The 90-day figure is the better guide to how long a notice can take.
