Curtici: ten-street asphalting contract with markings and signs

Orașul Curtici, a town in Arad county, signed a contract on 22 October 2026 for the asphalting of 10 streets in its Cartier Nou district. The contractor named in the notice is STRABAG. The value is 2,654,495.02 RON, about 496,418 EUR, and the works period is 15 months.

The notice was published the same day. It is unusual in one useful way: it lists every street with its length. It also says that road markings and road signs belong to the works. It gives no quantity for either, and this article keeps to that.

The contract is notice SCNA1138383 on the public procurement portal. It was signed and published on 22 October 2026, a lag of 0 days. The title reads Asfaltare străzi Cartier Nou in the town of Curtici, Arad county. The notice's CPV code is 45233140-2, road works.

The description ties the cost to chapter 4 of the investment budget, basic investment, item 4.1, construction and installations. The text we hold names no funding programme, and we do not guess one.

The notice lists ten streets and a length for each

The description states that the works cover asphalting of a number of 10 streets in the town. Each comes with a length:

The notice misspells the first word of the fifth street, "Ioan Slavici"; we write the name as it is meant. The longest street is Strada Ion Creangă at 616.00 m, the shortest Strada Regina Maria at 240.00 m. We do not add the ten lengths: the notice gives no total, and a sum of our own would not be a figure the notice states.

Obiectul contractului îl constituie execuția lucrărilor de modernizare a infrastructurii rutiere aferente obiectivului de investiții „Asfaltare Străzi Cartier Nou”, incluzând lucrări de terasamente, realizarea structurii rutiere, execuția îmbrăcăminților asfaltice, amenajarea drumurilor laterale, executarea marcajelor și montarea indicatoarelor rutiere, conform Proiectului Tehnic de Execuție astfel:

In English: the contract covers modernisation of the road infrastructure of the "Asfaltare Străzi Cartier Nou" investment, including earthworks, the road structure, asphalt surfacing, the arrangement of side roads, the execution of road markings and the installation of road signs, as set out in the technical execution design.

Two of those items are products a supplier sells. Executarea marcajelor means road markings; montarea indicatoarelor rutiere means the mounting of road signs. The notice states neither a length of marking nor a number of signs. Those would be in the technical execution design, which the notice cites but we do not hold. Earthworks, road structure and surfacing are named without any quantity either.

For a supplier of road marking and signs, the notice gives a place, ten named streets and a works period of 15 months. It does not give a bill of quantities.
