Gronau school works: 165 m PP storm sewer, 70 m pressure pipe
In short

The city of Gronau signed the civil and external works for the Fridtjof-Nansen-Realschule with Benning GmbH & Co. KG on 19 October 2026, for 569,651 EUR and a works period of 3 months. The notice states about 25 m of storm sewer DN 800, 165 m of storm sewer DA 160-250 in PP and 70 m of pressure pipe with shafts and pumping stations.

The city of Gronau signed the civil engineering and external works for the extension of the Fridtjof-Nansen-Realschule on 19 October 2026. The contractor is Benning GmbH & Co. KG. The notice lists three pipe lines: about 25 m of storm sewer DN 800, about 165 m of storm sewer DA 160-250 in PP, and about 70 m of pressure pipe with shafts and pumping stations.

The award notice appeared on TED on 20 October 2026, one day after signature. It covers one trade of a larger school project, so the quantities are small. They are still the kind a pipe, shaft or pump supplier can read straight off the notice.

The contract in figures

The value recorded for the contract is 569,651 EUR. At the rate of 20 October 2026 (5.3308 RON per EUR) that is 3,036,696.78 RON. The works period is 3 months. The notice names no lots and no consortium. The contracting authority is the city of Gronau; the notice is TED notice 724197-2026.

The notice describes the school as a four-stream Realschule with midday care. The concept renovates and restructures existing building parts, adds a three-storey building and replaces the northern building with a new one. The work is split into two construction phases of three building parts each and is carried out while school operations continue.

Storm sewer: about 25 m of DN 800 and 165 m of DA 160-250 in PP

The notice lists the storm sewer in two lines, in its own words:

ca. 25 m Regenwasserkanal DN 800 B

and

ca. 165 m Regenwasserkanal DA 160-250 PP

DN is the nominal diameter, here 800 mm. DA is the outer diameter in millimetres, so the second line covers pipe from 160 mm to 250 mm outside diameter. The notice gives one length for that whole range and does not split it by diameter. PP is polypropylene. The first line ends in "B"; the notice does not spell out what it stands for.

Each line starts with "ca.", the German abbreviation for circa. These are approximate lengths from the tender description, not measured as-built quantities.

Pressure pipe: about 70 m with shafts and pumping stations

The third line reads:

ca. 70 m Druckrohrleitung diverse Schacht- und Pumpwerke

The 70 m is the length of pressure pipe. The words "diverse Schacht- und Pumpwerke" say that various shafts and pumping stations belong to the same item. The notice states no count, size or type for them, so the number of pumping stations is not known from this line. A supplier of pumps or shafts should read it as a pointer, not as a quantity.

For context on pipe standards: DIN EN 13476-3 on DINmedia is the part of the series that covers structured-wall pipe systems of PVC-U, PP and PE for non-pressure underground drains and sewers, with a smooth inside and a profiled outside (type B). DINmedia lists the edition DIN EN 13476-3:2026-06 as current, replacing the 2020-12 edition. The Gronau lines say "PP" and "DA" but name no standard and no pipe type, so this is background, not a statement about what was specified.

What the notice does not say

The three lines above are the pipe quantities Trassa reads from this notice. They carry no pipe class, ring stiffness or manhole count, and nothing in them says who supplies the pipe. The full tender documents may hold more detail than the notice does.

How fast the notice appeared

Signature on 19 October 2026 and publication on 20 October 2026 are one day apart. Across the contracts Trassa holds from the last 30 days, the median gap between signature and publication is 5 days, so this notice appeared faster than usual. The evidence page explains how that gap is read and what counts as stated in a notice. For a similar German sewer and pressure main contract with much longer pipe runs, see the Bad Mergentheim briefing. Pipe and pump products of this kind are collected on the pipes and pumps page.
