Osnabrück Neumarkt: 5,600 m² of precast paving slabs

The city of Osnabrück signed the street and civil engineering works for the new Neumarkt on 22 October 2026. The contractor is DIECKMANN Bauen + Umwelt GmbH & Co. KG. The notice describes four surface items: about 3,700 m² of asphalt base course, about 8,300 m² of cast-in-place concrete, about 5,600 m² of precast concrete paving slabs and about 13,900 m² of concrete surface treatment.

For a supplier of precast concrete, the third line is the one to read: a stated area of precast elements, in a notice published one day after signature.

The contract in figures

The value recorded for the contract is 20,536,139 EUR. At the rate of 23 October 2026 (5.3492 RON per EUR) that is 109,851,914.63 RON, or 109.9 million RON. The works period is 33 months. The record shows no lots and no consortium. The place of performance is given as "Osnabrück Neumarkt Innenstadt". The authority is named in the notice as "Stadt Osnabrück - FD Öffentliche Aufträge". The notice lists four surface quantities

The description in the notice reads, in its own words:

Read line by line:

• Asphalttragschicht, about 3,700 m²: asphalt base course.
• Betonfläche (Ortbeton), about 8,300 m²: concrete surface cast in place.
• Betonfertigteil (Pflasterplatten), about 5,600 m²: precast concrete elements, paving slabs.
• Oberflächenbearbeitung (Betonflächen), about 13,900 m²: surface treatment of concrete surfaces. The notice does not say how this area relates to the two concrete lines above it.

Each quantity carries "ca.", the German abbreviation for circa. These are approximate areas from the tender description, not measured as-built quantities.

Precast paving slabs: about 5,600 m²

The line says "Betonfertigteil (Pflasterplatten)": precast concrete, paving slabs. The notice gives an area and nothing else about them: no slab format, thickness, colour, surface finish or strength class.

The Osnabrück line names no standard, so this is context for a reader who has to specify slabs, not a statement about what the contract requires.

Cast-in-place concrete and base course

Alongside the slabs, the notice states about 8,300 m² of cast-in-place concrete surface and about 3,700 m² of asphalt base course. The cast-in-place line is the largest of the three construction items listed. A supplier of concrete products will find the area there, with the same limit as for the slabs: an area, no thickness or concrete class.

Areas, not pieces

The notice counts in square metres. It gives no number of slabs, no tonnes and no cubic metres, and Trassa does not convert one into the other. That would need the slab format, the thickness and the concrete class, which the notice leaves out. The notice also does not say whether the surface treatment line overlaps with the two concrete lines. A reader who needs a quantity for planning should take each area as stated and treat it as a pointer to the tender documents behind it.

What the notice does not say

The title reads "Neubau Neumarkt; Straßen- und Tiefbau", so civil engineering works are part of the contract. The description Trassa reads lists the four surface areas above and no pipe lengths, kerb lengths, inlets, channels or lighting. Nothing in it says who supplies the slabs or any other material. The full tender documents may hold more detail than the notice.

How fast the notice appeared
