Rostock heating and cooling contract: 8,000 m pipe to DN100
The Staatliches Bau- und Liegenschaftsamt Rostock signed the heating supply and cooling plant with ceiling panels with Heinrich Krumme GmbH on 27 October 2026, for 4,606,006 EUR and a works period of 35 months. The notice states 8,000 m of pipework up to DN100, 5,000 m up to DN200, 266 radiators, two chillers and 1,700 m2 of heating-cooling ceilings.
The Staatliches Bau- und Liegenschaftsamt Rostock, the state building and property office, signed a heating supply and cooling package on 27 October 2026. The contractor is Heinrich Krumme GmbH. The notice lists pipework in two lengths: 8,000 m up to DN100 and 5,000 m up to DN200. It also lists 266 radiators, two chillers, one heat pump and 1,700 m2 of heating-cooling ceilings.
The award notice appeared on TED on 29 October 2026, two days after signature. The title is "Wärmeversorgungs-Kälteanlagen, HK-Decken": heat supply and cooling plants, and heating-cooling ceilings. For a supplier of pipe, pumps, radiators or ceiling panels the useful part is the single description line, which gives quantities for almost every item.
The contract in figures
The value recorded for the contract is 4,606,006 EUR. At the rate of 29 October 2026 (5.3441 RON per EUR) that is 24,614,956.66 RON. The works period is 35 months. The notice names no lots and no consortium. The place is Rostock, and the source is TED notice 752153-2026.
The notice does not name the building the plant is for. It gives the trade package only, so this briefing does not guess at the project.
Pipework: 8,000 m up to DN100 and 5,000 m up to DN200
The description names two pipework lengths, in its own words:
5.000m Rohrleitungen bis DN200
and
8.000m Rohrleitungen bis DN100
DN is the nominal size, a designation of pipe size rather than a measured diameter. It is defined in ISO 6708 (listed as current by DINmedia). "Bis DN100" means that the pipework runs up to that size; the notice does not split the length by diameter, and it names no pipe material. A supplier of steel, plastic or composite pipe cannot read the material from this line.
The two lengths are separate lines of the notice. They may or may not overlap in the full documents, so this briefing does not add them into one figure.
Plant: chillers, heat pump, recoolers and a heat transfer station
The same description lists the central equipment:
2 Kältemaschinen je 280kW, 1 Wärmepumpe 120/90kW, 2 Rückkühler je 340 kW
That is two chillers of 280 kW each, one heat pump of 120/90 kW and two recoolers of 340 kW each. Further down the line is "WÜST 650 kW", which in trade usage is a heat transfer station, and "Fußbodenheizung 19kW", an underfloor heating of 19 kW. The notice also states 7 cooling circuits ("Kältekreise") and 7 heating circuits ("Heizkreise"). The notice gives no size or length for the circuits.
Terminals: 266 radiators, 73 ULK and 1,700 m2 of ceilings
At the room end the description states:
266 Heizkörper
and
1.700m2 Heiz-Kühldecken
That is 266 radiators and 1,700 m2 of heating-cooling ceilings. The notice also lists "73 ULK" without explaining the abbreviation, so this briefing does not translate it. The notice gives no radiator type, output or ceiling system, and no manufacturer for any item.
What the notice does not say
The line above is the full set of quantities Trassa reads from this notice. It carries no pipe material, no insulation, no pump count, no valve or control equipment and no statement of who supplies any of it. Full tender documents may hold more detail than the notice does. The "bis" in both pipework lines means the lengths cover a range of sizes, not one.
The quantities in a notice are the contracting authority's own short description of the work. They do not replace a bill of quantities or a parts list, and they do not fix which makes are supplied. A reader learns the extent of the trade package, not the detail of how it is built.
How fast the notice appeared
Signature on 27 October 2026 and publication on 29 October 2026 are two days apart. The evidence page explains how that gap is read and what counts as stated in a notice. For another German contract where pipe lengths come straight from the notice, see the Gronau briefing. Pipe and pump products of this kind are collected on the pipes and pumps page, and radiators and heat sources on the heating and sanitary page.
